本セミナーでは、カナダ政府が公表した世界初の国家AI戦略「Pan-Canadian Artificial Intelligence Strategy」で、AI産業のハブに指定されている３都市（トロント、モントリオール、エドモントン）のうち、「エドモントン」におけるAI分野への新規ビジネス開拓やカナダ/スタートアップ企業との協業等の可能性、インフラビジネス分野へのAI活用等を追究いただくと共に、世界中のAI分野のビジネスリーダーや研究者がエドモントンに集うカナダ国内最大級のAIテックイベント「Upperbound AI」（本年5月21日～24日に開催予定）をご紹介する。

エドモントンは、カナダ有数の教育文化都市で、特にＳＴＥＭ系（Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics）が強く、エネルギー産業に加え、ハイテク産業にも力を入れており、当地をAI研究拠点とする大手テック企業も多数。

本セミナーにご登壇いただくAlberta Machine Intelligence Institute（「AMIIについて」参照）は、AI分野の研究活動を様々な産業に波及させ、雇用創出型クラスターを目指し、テック企業と協業しながら、教育、企業研修、ビジネスインキュベーション等、様々な活動を行い、Edmonton Global (エドモントン都市圏自治体により設立された非営利団体)は外国企業によるエドモントンへの投資誘致、ビジネスサポート等の活動を行う。
